PhD courses: after the exam

The university organizes interdisciplinary courses. When a student successfully takes those exams, the transcript is available at https://s3w.si.unimib.it/.

New procedure (starting from cycle XXXIX) for disciplinary courses: students can only take internal courses, transcipts will also be available at https://s3w.si.unimib.it/.

Old procedure

When a student takes a course organized by the PhD school then:

  1. the student gets a certificate (template) stating she/he has passed an exam and the number of ECTS credits of the course
  2. the student sends by email a scanned version of the certificate to the director and the deputy director
  3. the student receives a confirmation email with the actual number of ECTS credits of the course (local rules might introduce some differences in the ECTS that are actually determined) and the total number of ECTS credits obtained so far.
  4. the director and the deputy director keep track of the transcript. The student has to keep the original document to be able to exhibit it upon request.

If the external course does not deliver an exam and a certificate, the student can contact the director and the deputy director to schedule a seminar. The seminar must focus on one of the topics covered by the external course. The typical duration of such a seminar is 30mins. A committee will attend the presentation and will determine the number of ECTS credits assigned to the student.
