Ph.D students in computer science have to spend a minimum of 6 months doing research abroad (unless the student obtained a position with specific constraints).
Before leaving for the research period abroad, the following steps have to be completed
– the ph.d. student and the supervisor have to jointly identify the host institution, the abroad supervisor, and agree on the period of the visit
– the ph.d. student has to fill in the form “Request for Training Abroad” available on the University’s website of the phd program and send it to the Director of the ph.d. program for signature
– once the student received the signed form back the form has to be sent to the ph.d. office
– the phd board can, at this point, formally approve the period abroad. Note that the period abroad MUST be approved before the student leaves.
